Will MacGregor lives in Queensland, Australia. He writes speculative & science fiction with a focus on ‘long short stories’. He has lived and worked in Japan and traveled extensively.

Amongst his influences he counts William Gibson (Sprawl Trilogy, Bridge Series), Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, The Baroque Cycle), Gillian Rubinstein (GalaxArena, Space Demons, Skymaze), as well as Stephen King, Dean Koontz & ‘Golden Age’ science fiction.

When not writing he can be found pottering about the kitchen trying to recreate his favourite Japanese convenience store food from recipes on CookPad, working in the garden with his wife and son, reading (short story omnibuses from second-hand shops are a favourite), and resisting the urge to binge hours of 90s and early 2000s sci-fi television series.

He doesn’t really maintain this blog (he’d rather the writing time go towards writing actual stuff), but he loves to procrstinate. He used to tweet as @willofgregor but can now be found on Mastadon as @willofgregor@famichiki.jp.
